Technical Trainer

 Summary of Position

As a Technical Trainer in the Educational Services Department, your core responsibilities include assessing the training needs of new and existing clients, and delivering functional product training to our end users and employees.  You will be required to understand and deliver training for all product enhancements, organize and deliver the training curriculum using various methods and to stay current on all industry standards for training approaches. This can be a remote position.

Purpose of Position:

?  Assess the customer product training requirements and recommend delivery methods for training.

?  Deliver software training to end users at customer sites, in-house, and utilizing distance learning technologies.

?  Customize pre-existing training programs, including curriculum content, and handouts to reflect the specific business processes of each client.

?  Validate training results through assessments and lab exercises.Keep abreast of new and innovative training technology and methodology advances in the industry; research trade journals et al and actively participate in discussion groups.Identify and deliver fundamental product training through advanced desktop tool, office suite, productivity, and technical training to employees and our end users.

?  Develop mechanisms to objectively quantify that training objectives are achieved.

?  Assist with improvement of overall results-oriented training delivery to the end customer - i.e., train-the-trainer.

?  Assist with long-range planning for incorporating alternative training approaches into the curriculum, using both internal and external resources.Hold in house product training classes for end users when appropriate.Assist in developing Training Plan as necessary and defined by contracts with our customers.

 

Position Requirements:

 ?  Advanced degree in adult education or equivalent technical training experience.

?  Prior experience delivering and developing customer training for a complex information system.

? Educational/training background

?  Ability to travel, approximately 100% depending upon customer installation loan, in order to learn utility business and process, and to ensure training programs are designed commensurate with real world experiences at customer sites.

?  Ability to create/present course materials using multiple/diverse technologies

?Ability to quickly learn new software technologies

?  Ability to work on multiple projects

?  Ability to work autonomously and complete projects within productive timeframes

?  Prior adult learning expertise

?  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentations

?  PC desktop/desktop software skills

?  CBT (computer based training) skills and familiarity

?  Prior experience in a high travel environment.
