Technical Writer - 99012204

Produces a major portion of a complex documentation set that complies with documentation plan requirements. Helps define and instruct others in writing styles (e.g. reference guides, user guides, solutions books, online). Writes and helps implement documentation plan for major component of a project. Schedules and coordinates work of a documentation team. May oversee team in the design and production of courseware for training. Works on a wide variety of content, from documenting command-line switches for a deployment tool and creating sample scripts, to writing prescriptive deployment and operations content. Works effectively with program management, product marketing, and other internal customers as needed.

Advanced knowledge of the specified technology as well as additional technologies. Demonstrated ability to oversee a team in developing a complex documentation set. Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, Journalism, English or related field preferred. Work related experience may substitute for degree. 3 -4 years work-related experience required. Must have excellent writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Must be familiar with Windows Server and IIS and with the IT audience. Experience with SharePoint preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to combine technical expertise with technical communication skills, and be able to work under deadline pressure. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. BA in Technical Communications, Journalism, English or related field preferred. Related work experience may substitute for degree.
