Job Title:   Test Analyst (QA)   Cheapflights is an internet media company with a specialization in publishing travel deals and generating sales for travel companies.

Cheapflights.com launched in the USA in June 2003 and has had a very successful first 3 years in the USA market.  Cheapflights.com has over 2 million unique users a month and is a top 13 USA travel agent website (Hitwise).  It is part of the Cheapflights family of sites that was founded over 10 years ago in the UK.

 

We are looking for test professionals who enjoy working closely with our development teams throughout a project?s life. Our testers participate in every aspect of a project from the initial business case and requirements definition to support of the product in the production environment. We currently use Mercury Interactive?s TestDirector and TestManager for test automation and expect any incoming candidate to possess this knowledge or be capable of learning it quickly (the company will provide training). Our test analysts are expected to have experience in different types of testing on different platforms. Specifically, click and billing data validation, user experience and interface testing, load and performance profiling and full regressions of the existing products are all common tasks for our testers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

- Complete appropriate test and quality measurements before, during and after product release

- Contribute in all stages of the product life-cycle

- Communicate and collaborate with other members of the company

 

Support tasks:

- Be willing to take on tasks outside of the main remit when appropriate such as software and server configuration, tools maintenance or helping to evolve our release process.

 

Preferred background:

- 5 years of testing experience on a team responsible for high-traffic Internet-based applications

- Mix of languages, platforms, and/or operating systems in work history

- Strong experience testing on the Microsoft platform

- Experience in both waterfall and agile development process methodologies

Qualifications: 

- Degree in a technical concentration (computer science, engineering, math, IT, etc.)

- Microsoft Certification (Desirable)
