Test Engineer Lead ~ Getting to the Bottom of Things Will Propel You to the Top
Test Engineers ready to take the next step in their career - by creating the strategic test plans underpinning tactical test case execution - will find the opportunity here in this key role at eProject. In tandem with product managers and developers, you will lead efforts to identify and remove defects from our project portfolio management application. The application is entirely based on .NET, and your understanding of object-oriented code concepts and their relationship to product defects will be key. This role will report to a QA Manager and we're targeting compensation and responsibilities to those whose total software industry experience is in the 5+ year range, and are ready to step into a lead role. You may have moved from network operations or technical support into testing, have mastered test case execution and now are poised to begin thinking strategically and automating scripts while leading some projects.
eProject is the leading developer of project management and collaboration software for the Enterprise. Our .Net applications used by many of the world?s most visible Fortune 500 corporations and municipalities. Join a company voted "Washington CEO Best Companies to Work For" in 2005 and 2006, and take part in a dynamic culture that values innovation, progressive thinking and our most important asset, our people. If you are interested in a growing company that has maintained its start-up culture, and want an opportunity to become something that is bigger than the sum of its parts, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
As our Seattle-based lead test engineer, you will jump right into testing a new set of features for our product. We're a cutting edge .NET application server talking to a SQL database, so understanding server functionality, including MS Windows servers, SQL Server, web servers and IIS, is a must. Your first objective will be working with our product manager and developer to create strategic test plans for specific features, then managing more junior test resources for execution of test cases. Your analyses of test case results will go a long way to setting defect severity levels and determining if test coverage is on target or should be redirected. We'll also look to you to plot out the roadmap and milestones for triaging the defects. Since the next phase of your efforts will be automating the manual tests, you will leverage at least entry-level programming skills - ideally in C# - although prior experience creating automated tests in Visual Basic, Perl or PHP will be helpful and will position you to program in C#. We believe that QA and testing is as much a mind set as a skill set, and you will succeed here by viewing our application as a user does in order to explore ways to try and make it fail. Working with a 4-person Seattle team and liaising with 9 other testers in the Ukraine, your position provides not only a career path to more senior test engineering and QA positions, but also into application development.
All applications for this position are accepted via our online interview system, managed by Accolo. You can begin the interview process or REFER someone you know by going to this link: http://jobs.accolo.com/6657
Once you have completed the interview, your information will be sent directly to the hiring manager for decisions on the next steps. Regardless of the outcome, eProject or Accolo will keep you updated as to your status by e-mail or phone.
