Responsibilities:

 

UNIX Administrator:This position will be responsible for installing and activating operating systems, services, and user applications, providing senior level knowledge/Tier 3 supports for UNIX-based production systems, writing configuration documentation for new installations including operating manuals, system design diagrams, qualification and other documentation. This role will also be researching, proposing, installing and testing equipment upgrades, assisting in the development of policy and procedures and performing design configuration, testing and maintenance of high availability platforms. The candidate should possess extensive sh/csh/ksh knowledge and have strong written & verbal communication skills. The candidate should possess current knowledge of industry offerings and their potential uses within the business and have the ability to perform administrative tasks related to UNIX environment (inventory, problem tracking, equipment ordering, documentation, etc.). This position requires this individual to have experience in cross-platform system integration, system Administrator experience for Solaris 9 or 10, Oracle Databases, and EMC SANs would be a plus

 

Qualifications: The candidate must have a Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years of Sun Solaris System Administration and UNIX scripting experience. Must have the ability to build and scale a stable UNIX environment based on business needs for application/database servers running Oracle.  In addition, the candidate must have experience working with a SAN environment, and must have a working knowledge of Windows.
