Job Description

Ideally, a candidate with senior UNIX, Websphere MQ and Weblogic development and administration experience that has very strong scripting skills, that has also served in a production support capacity with trouble shooting skills, knowledge of monitoring and alerting mechanisms.  Familiar with configuration/ release management and able to recommend ?best practices?.  Someone very strong technically that can execute in a senior role with minimal direction.  Ability to understand financial related applications and overall system components.

?  Requires past experience with supporting mission critical financial based applications.

?  Provides 2nd level support with excellent troubleshooting skills

?  Assures problem calls are tracked, routed properly, documented fully and closed.

?  Coverage will include non-business hours, which will result in nighttime/weekend support remotely or onsite as required.

?  Work with project teams on monitoring and release scripting.

?  Tivoli experience a huge plus.

?  Works closely with build and other technology teams to assure ensure quality of monitoring. Acts in consultative role to build to plan and deploy monitors.

?  Participates in evaluation of new application, monitoring and testing tools.

?  Provides application performance and failure metrics reporting.

?  Should be capable of assisting in development of test plans and execution of tests.

?  Assures compliance to change management, and security policies.

?  Controls both access to production and deployments.

?  Satisfaction against Service Levels Agreements

?  Is responsible for infrastructure build documentation and 2nd level support procedures documentation.

?  Works with project teams to gather infrastructure requirements and assures infrastructure is prepared for deployments. This requires close teamwork with build, other technology teams.

?  Resolution of incidents escalated from Client Service Delivery Analysts and Client Service Delivery Manager

?  Strong business partnership with Client Service Analysts, Application Developers and other Service Delivery team members

?  Team and personal work load management

?  Continuous improvement

?  Investment Bank experience

?  Knowledge of iSeries a plus

 

Required Skills

?  MQ and Weblogic configuration and administration skills 5 years experience.

?  UNIX administration ? Strong hands-on.

?  5 years of experience preferably on Linux or Solaris.

?  5 years of real life production systems support experience.

?  Unix Shell Scripts (Boure shell, Korn shell) ? to handle complex automation/ administration. 3 years experience.

?  Excellent knowledge of infrastructure aspects. Strong troubleshooting skills required.

?  A solid background in TCP/IP and networks in general.

?  Requires a logical approach to problem solving.

?  Extensive understanding of overall system components for financial applications.

 

Desired Skills

?  PERL Scripting a plus

?  Background in application development, Java preferably ? helpful.

?  Experience with database administration (MySQL, DB2) a plus.

?  RedHat Enterprise Linux experience a huge plus. 

?  Veritas Cluster Server a plus.
