Usability Designer and Case Studies Writer

The ideal candidate will provide design recommendations on usability, navigation, layout, consistency and color palettes. Participate in focus-group studies and usability testing to gather feedback on feature designs and new enhancement requests. Work closely with Product Managers and Product Engineers throughout all stages of the product life cycle to translate feature specifications into functional designs. Responsible for developing and maintaining screenshots and HTML prototypes for demonstration and development purposes and must be able to translate business strategies into conceptual diagrams, task flows and site maps.

 

Responsibilities: Research, develop, and communicate user experience strategies from  conceptualization to launch and follow-up. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve the ArisGlobal user experience. Initiating and facilitating creative sessions with various customers at ArisGlobal. Initiating and facilitating creative sessions with various User Groups at ArisGlobal Assists in the development and testing of product prototypes to evaluate navigational structure, appearance of screens, and effectiveness of tools Help to define the user model and user interface for new and existing products aimed at customer experience. Guide the creation of design alternatives and manage the entire process of producing finalized page designs based on chosen design direction Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas Work to design a consistent look and feel across products and print marketing. Write and catalog Case Studies for various ArisGlobal products

 

Qualifications: 4 year college degree in Human Factors Engineering, Interface Design, Computer Science, or related field. 6+ years experience in Application Usability Design. Must demonstrate a genuine belief in, and passion for, usability and the value it delivers. Solid knowledge of issues relating to web design and usability best practices. Developing a Case Study process to include (designing the case studies, conducting the case studies (preparing for data collection), conducting the case studies (collecting the evidence), analyzing the evidence, and reporting the evidence) Must be able to travel to the development center in India three to four times a year for two to three weeks.
