Usability Engineer

Masters or PhD degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience

 

Minimum 5 years experience doing usability research and working successfully with project teams to drive results into design and development throughout the project lifecycle

 

Extensive experience executing relevant lab studies

 

Strong and vocal user advocate with excellent communication skills

 

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team

 

Detail oriented and able to take on self-directed projects

 

Deep knowledge of different user research methodologies, with the ability to innovate new approaches when necessary

 

 

Experience with the following is desirable:

 

International user research or remote user studies

 

On-line communities and social computing

 

Using research to help uncover new features. Techniques used will include: contextual inquiry, personas,  sunset reviews, surveys

 

Analysis of web server log data

 

User research on large-scale websites
