User Interface Engineer

 CIBER is currently seeking 5 User Interface Engineers for a nine month project with an Atlanta based client. 3 of the engineers will be based in Alpharetta, 1 will be in Dunwoody, and 1 will need to be able to commute to either location as needed.  The User Interface Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining dynamic web templates for the client?s web site and supporting applications. They must be able to work effectively in a very fluid, high-communication environment. They are responsible for leading the development team in identifying usability issues, and understanding web standards in order to make informed recommendations for improvements. They must also maintain a working knowledge of the client?s systems and processes to aid in debugging or troubleshooting these systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create and maintain dynamic web templates using JSP or similar scripting language. Commit modifications to version control system.
Maintain UNIX-based development environment to support multiple applications and Apache web server configurations.
Work with Project Managers to understand business objectives and provide technical assessments, risk analysis and accurate estimates of development time.
Translate business objectives quickly into functional applications.
Research web standards for accepted usability practices. Lead development team to identify usability issues and make recommendations for improvements.
Contribute to design of an organized template architecture focused on efficiency, reusability and ease of maintenance.
Aid in troubleshooting issues and rapidly solving problems or correcting defects.
Assist in usability testing, reviews and evaluations to identify issues and provide an enhanced user experience.

Required Skills:
3 to 6 years professional experience developing dynamic web pages for high-volume, multi-tiered application. Thorough working knowledge of: HTML AJAXJavaScript DHTML CSS JSP SQL Apache web servers UNIXFamiliarity with: CVS or similar version control system Java syntax Extreme ProgrammingAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization. Ability to work on multiple ongoing projects. Organizational skills to coordinate priorities and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and follow through on completion of tasks. College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
