Title:  Visual Basic Developer

Description:  EnRoute Emergency Systems, LLC, a division of Extensity, Inc. (formerly Geac Public Safety) develops and markets the EnRoute product suite consisting of Police, Fire and EMT computer aided dispatch, messaging, and reporting software solutions.  This position will be responsible for performing software development in all phases of the product development life cycle (including installation and implementation process) by determining key customer requirements and providing technical solutions in accordance with the direction of the Development Organization.  The primary focus will be developing, enhancing and maintaining custom modifications to the suite of Public Safety software products in Visual Basic and SQL Server, including future development in Visual Basic .NET.  The programmer analyst is expected to design, code, document and verify high quality solutions.  The applicant will have development/debugging experience with Visual Basic 6.0 and SQL Server.  The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and have strong communication skills.  Experience with Visual Basic with Microsoft Internet Information Server web design, and/or knowledge of Pick or UniData would be highly desired, but not required.

 

Required Skills:



 

? 3 ? 5 years software engineering experience;

? BS in Computer Science or equivalent;

? A minimum of 18 months to 3 years of proven development experience with Visual Basic 6.0 or .NET;

? MS SQL Server development experience and Web development;

? Experience developing commercial grade software applications, preferably developing public safety industry applications;

? Strong problem solving and analytical skills;

? Strong understanding of business applications;

? Effective written communication;

? Solid design/coding skills;

? Ability to function in a team environment;

? Excellent organization and documentation skills;

? Outstanding Communication skills;

 

Desired Skills:



 

? Development experience with Microsoft Internet Information Server web design;

? Knowledge or experience with Pick or UniData;

? Experience with EMS applications
