Web Communications Spec
Description: The Web Communications Specialist is responsible for implementing and updating web sites as defined by corporate standards utilizing standard Web development and content management tools; supporting WKFS internal users of web technology in support of business objectives; participating in determining and implementing standards, methodology and technology to support effective WKFS Web sites as identified. These include Internet, Intranet, and Extranet sites. The Web Communications Specialist is also responsible for the set up and management of e-communications utilizing third party tool sets
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

50% Web Site Development Process
o Participates with project initiator in determining initial project feasibility, clarifies scope and resource needs to support development of business cases as needed.
o Participates in defining project requirements.
a. Writing and design requirements.
b. Technical development requirements.
c. Update requirements (time, responsibility, etc.)
o Participates in developing draft web sites with participation of project initiator, Internet Marketing, and Marketing Communications staff.
o Develops and maintains both Internet and Intranet web sites
o Maintains online web content and works on a variety of eCommerce efforts
o Participates in effort to verify accuracy of web site;
a. Proofing.
b. Standards.
c. Legal review.
d. Functionality.
o Participates in management of the corporate Intranet and Internet efforts, on-line catalog, e-commerce efforts, and online advertising efforts with the help of the Internet Marketing group.
o Maintains and utilizes ecommunications toolset to produce, distribute and report on ecommunications activities.
o Maintains and updates search engine marketing programs on a regular basis.
40% Web Site Training and Support Process
o Participates in developing the look, feel and scope of training materials; provides training feedback to management teams in Marketing.
o Participates in providing support to end user and developer relating to the look, feel and scope of web site.
o Participates in Web site training/support process
10% Web Technology Planning and Metrics
o Participates in establishing the look, feel, and scope when defining web site standards and policies.
o Participates in defining standards and policies related to web site.
o Participates in reviewing web business cases (BSI web site needs) requiring infrastructure development.
o Plays a key supporting role in the migration to an enterprise-wide content management system.
o Supports the implementation of a third party web metrics reporting tool across WKFS web sites.
o Collects and interprets web data/metrics in support of business decisions.
Qualifications:
o BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business, BCIS, Computer Science, or related area or equivalent experience.
o 3-5 years experience in a marketing or marketing communications environment, preferably with software/solutions exposure; Internet marketing experience preferred.
o Internet experience using Windows based PCs,, Internet Explorer, Office 2003, Adobe products
o Knowledge and experience using Internet-based programming languages and applications, e.g. HTML, XHTML, XML, JAVA, JAVASCRIPT, ASP, CSS, PDF, Dreamweaver, WebTrends, Sharepoint, etc.
o Knowledge of banking, securities, mortgage and insurance compliance/operations a plus.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications:
o Strong PC/Internet knowledge and experience.
o Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Internet-based programming languages, e.g., HTML, XHTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, JAVA, JAVASCRIPT, ASP, PDF, etc.
o Uses good independent judgment and manages time effectively.
o Excellent interpersonal skills.
