Web Developer

 

We are currently searching for a Web Developer to join our team at our Bethesda, MD location to provide programming, administrative and web development support for scientists involved in genome based efforts. 

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

This position requires a minimum of three years programming experience, including:

 Two years professional experience developing web applications in Perl/CGI Two years professional experience with relational database development Solid knowledge of SQL and HTML, JavaScript, and CSS Experience developing and deploying applications on a UNIX and Linux platforms 

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

 Some experience with object-oriented programming Some experience with graphics, layout, and design Knowledge of versioning control software (CVS or RCS)

 

Additional Qualifications:

 Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Must possess the ability to work independently with little direct supervision in a multi-tasking environment Must possess the willingness and ability to work in a team environment consisting of both programmers and scientists Must be well-organized and experienced in software documentation Must have a cooperative and service-oriented attitude, must be able to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor

 

Education/Training:

 Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
