WebSphere Support Specialist

IBM's Software Group is seeking a WebSphere Support Specialist interested in becoming part of a worldwide support team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for technical skills development in WebSphere Application Sever on the Distributed Operating Systems. The ideal candidate will be an experienced support specialist who understands IBM support processes, tools, metrics and systems with sufficient depth to teach others. This position will give someone who has strong WebSphere technical skills (3 years minimum) exposure to multiple parts of the IBM business. The right candidate will show the leadership needed to be able to participate and represent support in specifications, reviews of future products, and features. This person will have a demonstrated ability to understand problems from the customer's perspective and the potential impact of those problems on their business. The following skills are required for this position: Java Programming, Web Services, WebSphere Application Server, distributed operating systems, hardware/software test lab setup, relational databases, and network problem determination. Strong communications skills are a must.

Candidates must currently be located in Durham, NC or the surrounding area or willing to relocate at their own expense. Candidates will have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
