WebSphere z/OS Support Specialist

IBM Software Group's Application Integration Middleware (AIM) Services organization is looking for an experienced WebSphere z/OS Support Specialist. This position offers an excellent opportunity for technical skills development in WebSphere Application Server for z/OS. As part of a worldwide team we are looking for an experienced support specialist who understands IBM support processes, tools, metrics and systems with sufficient depth. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with both technical and non technical users is required. Applicants must have strong organizational skills, self-management skills, and support soft skills, as well as possess a positive and cooperative attitude and be a committed team player. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to understand problems from the customers' perspective and the impact on their business.

Successful candidates will have very strong skills in either WebSphere Application Server (WAS) or z/OS, preferably both. Some exposure to both WAS and z/OS is required. Support skills including problem determination, communication, and soft skills are required. Trace & dump analysis skills are strongly preferred. Skills in Java and RETAIN are preferred.

Candidates must currently reside in Poughkeepsie, NY or the surrounding area. No relocation assistance is available. Competitive candidates will have a degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
