SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - WINDOWS

 

The Systems Administrator - Windows is responsible for managing the Windows 2000 and legacy Windows NT server environment including server level applications. This position requires the ability to perform necessary system monitoring and ongoing improvements to enhance overall Windows 2000 and Windows NT system performance.  The Systems Administrator ? Windows must also possess the technical skills necessary to support user PCs running Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office XP as well as additional software applications.  This individual must possess strong customer service orientation, be self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and projects. Technical ability and creativity is necessary for potential problem solving.  The Systems Administrator -Windows reports to the Manager of Information Technologies.

 

 

CRITICAL SKILLS:

Technical: Experience in MS server applications (i.e. IIS, SQL, Exchange), Experience in installing and administrating Windows 2000 servers in a global Active Directory environment. Experience in installing and configuring of server hardware and disk subsystems, as well as tape backup and restore operations.  Knowledge of Active Directory, logon scripts, system policies, batch files, and  knowledge of current quality specifications.

Interpersonal:  Communication (verbal, written), listening.

Organizational: Multi-tasking, prioritizing, project planning, time management.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

4 year Computer Science or related degree.  Minimum 4 years experience.  Microsoft certification is strongly recommended.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit at a work station for extended periods of time
