Administrator Shovels/Drills

MAJOR PURPOSE OF POSITION

 

 

 

In conjunction with Sr. Shovel Administrator, assist in activities relating to sales and marketing of shovels worldwide that optimizes greatest profitability to the Company.

JOB FUNCTIONS



1.Assist in review of shovel inquiries, assist to ensure timely and finished proposals prepared in the most competitive manner that is likely to secure the business for the Company, working closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Parts, Accounting, Manufacturing, Contract, and related departments.

2.Assist in activities as relates to product development and improvements, sales, forecasts, pricing, and promotion on a worldwide basis for shovels.

3.Assist in coordination and preparation of all sales technical literature to provide up-to-date information for all Field Sales and distributors.

4.Assist in timely sales promotional and advertising to assure worldwide promotion and acceptance of product.

5.Maintain communication with Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Service, Erection, and Claims departments to assure a timely resolution to customer issues and requests.

6. Maintain the technical acceptability of the product by continual review with Engineering department.

7. Assist in developing and maintaining ?best practices? of the department as aligned with goals and strategies. ORGANIZING AND PLANNING

Organization and planning skills required in applying inter-departmental capabilities to assure timely response to customers or Field Sales. Scheduling sales presentations, visits and promotional programs. Market research and product planning; manufacturing and inventory scheduling; assurance of satisfactory field performance and customer satisfaction with the product line. Assist in planning long term strategies in working with our international regions and licensees in the assigned territory.

COMMUNICATION

External communication required with international regions and licensees on product sales, prices, deliveries, technical information, contracts, and issues for customer satisfaction and sales development. Internal communications with other departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Contracts, Service, Erection, Parts, and Manufacturing in all aspects of marketing shovels.

COOPERATION

Daily internal contacts require the utmost cooperation and enthusiasm from all departments such as Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Parts, Contracts, Service, Erection, Manufacturing, and upper management. Frequent external contact with international regions, customers, distributors, agents, and licensees also demands the utmost cooperation.

DEVELOPMENT OF OTHERS

Development and training of all Field Sales personnel is necessary to increase their effectiveness with customers. Support people in other departments must continue to develop an awareness of the customer requirements to better assist our shovel negotiations.



KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

A college degree with a BS in business administration or engineering. MBA in a related business field would be desirable. Experience and understanding of B-I products, their markets, applications, and operation is ideal. TYPE AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE

Five to seven years in a business administration, engineering or management role. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. International business knowledge/experience is ideal.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The ability to communicate and get along with people cannot be over emphasized. Understanding of our customer's business and the application of BI products are, of course, essential. Further, a working knowledge of BI manufacturing procedures and a mechanical/electrical aptitude is most helpful.
