Assistant Construction Manager

Responsibilities:
Tetra Tech EC, a full service environmental consulting, engineering, construction and remediation company has a need for an Assistant Construction Manager in New York City.



The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage all aspects of a construction project including safety, quality, profit/loss, and schedule. The successful candidate will be required to develop and evaluate bid packages for subcontractors, develop proposals and work plans, work with estimators to prepare bids including cost and schedule input, and then successfully implement the work plans and manage subcontracts. A working knowledge of contract Ts&Cs, baseline establishment, and change management is essential.

Initial work location is in NYC. Future work locations may be anywhere in the U.S. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel extensively.

Experiences Requirements:
Minimum 13-15 years experience. The candidate should have held progressively more responsible positions in the industry. The candidate must be capable of developing work approaches to be employed, including selection and staffing requirements. Factors to be considered in candidate selection include the following: a mix of experience with government and private clients; experience with union and nonunion labor; and demonstrated success in managing lump sum, guaranteed fixed price, and/or cost reimbursable construction. While an emphasis is placed on construction management of subcontractors, experience in both self-performed work and management of subcontractors is a plus.



Skills Required:
Construction Manager with a minimum of 15 years of experience, with significant experience in commercial and industrial construction in both the private and government sectors. Experience in selection of equipment and tools and establishing manpower requirements, including production rates, is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to manage all disciplines including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, HVAC, and Architectural from project inception through system completion, start up, and turnover. Demonstrated commitment to and line management responsibility for environmental, health, and safety performance is required.

BS/BA Degree.
