JOB TITLE:  Buyer/Planner

 

DEPARTMENT: Scheduling

 

REPORTS TO:  Director, Inside Sales/Scheduling

 

LOCATION: Terex Construction Americas ? Southaven, MS

 

SCHEDULE:Day Shift (Flexible-Overtime as needed)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for identifying and resolving daily material availability issues, facilitating or ordering necessary machines, parts, supplies, and services to support production.Communicates with multiple departments across the organization to evaluate and prioritize work in progress. Creates work orders to modify stock machines to match the specification on customer orders.May prepare reports summarizing production-related information such as material shortages, parts required to repair machines, etc.Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with vendors.Other duties as assigned

 

 REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of four (4) years production and/or inventory control experience desired.Four years of experience and/or formal education beyond high school in inventory control, material distribution and planning, and purchasing from suppliers preferred.Understanding of production planning and Lean Manufacturing desired.Experience with Bill of Material maintenance desiredStrong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvementAS400 skillsPC skills to include EXCEL, Microsoft Word and e-mail applications.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teamsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentExcellent customer service skills
