CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Construction Manager for a Property Management Company

Overview

Manage construction and renovations, supervisor and coordinate staff.  Track materials, purchases, costs and timelines to meet budget guides and project timelines. Meet operational standards. Requires at least six years of professional construction experience. Be able to work well under pressure and the ability to work as a team player.  Self-starter and independent thinker.  Must know how to use a computer with MS office software.  Reports to the Director of Construction.  Some traveling required, local and overnight.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises activities of construction staff to ensure that work is performed correctly and within a timely manner.

 

 

 

* Rehab and maintenance.



 

 

 

* Oversees schedules and signs off on timecards.



 

 

 

* Provides recommendations for hires, promotions and terminations.



 

 

 

* Ensures that invoices are charged to the proper accounts.



 

 

 

* Ensures that work completed by third parties meets agreements and payments and is processed as necessary

Prepares various spreadsheet reports and statements related to project timelines and costs

Performs special projects as needed

Assists in the areas of compliance and research for existing and new projects



 

Essential Education, Skills and Environment

Education and Work Experience

Requires a minimum of six years of construction experience.  Contractors license a plus.  Demonstrate knowledge of building codes and requirements

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Excellent technical knowledge of all construction areas. Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills.

Equipment and Applications

All construction related equipment, computer and office related software.
