Commercial Project Estimator

CGM is one of the largest fabricators in Chicagoland in the stone industry. The commercial division needs a qualified person with Engineering degree and background, Experience in Designing, Project Planning and Management, Project Estimation, Bid and Office Management. The chosen candidate will perform a variety of Managerial and Bidding tasks including preparing Bid proposals and other Bidding documents such as drawings, specifications, estimates; Forecasting; Solicitations and Contracts/Job orders along with scheduling, coordinating, inspecting and Competing for bidding projects in prescribed timeframes while analyzing Information, and meeting all applicable job related terms and pre-conditions.The candidate will be required to perform the majority of duties in a computerized, AutoCAD environment, be knowledgeable in general contracting and bidding principles.In addition to the above requirements the chosen candidate must be able to:? Prepare the Building Estimates, Material Takeoffs, Generate Proposal.? Plan, Conduct and Facilitate Pre-bid meetings with the Subs; Arrange Site visits; Prepare Bidding documents; Analyze Bidding Documents.? Collect and analyze quotes, cost and pricing data.? Attend Bid Meetings and Bid openings.? Write clear, concise technical specifications.? Develop written cost estimates using standard industry guides .? Prepare accurate drawings, sketches, etc. using both standard drafting techniques and CAD equipment. ? Interpret complex specifications and drawings. ? Coordinate multiple jobs/biddings. ? Clearly communicate ideas to all levels of other professional groups including subs.? Organize ideas, thoughts, and formulate clear, logical plans or action to execute projects and other related work. ? Understand general contracting principles. ? Develop and maintain a bidder's mailing list. ? Maintain a construction related library of new materials, processes and related items.? Provide and interpret job closing information.
