Position Description:

Gilbane, the nation?s sixth largest construction manager, has an opening for a Purchasing Agent

Profile: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for assisting the Chief Purchasing Agent in managing contractor buy-out and purchasing process for the region.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in construction related environment in purchasing or project engineering with the ability to read drawings & understand specifications and manage extensive contractor buy-out/purchasing process. Excellent organizational, time management, written, verbal and computer skills, MS Office, JD Edwards. Prefer experience with Subgard insurance program.

Responsibilities: Duties include managing pre-bid & post-bid process for all trade contractors; creating bid documents; identify and pre-qualify ample database of bidders and generate bidder interest on a project by project basis. Negotiate & prepare contracts, PO?s, consultant agreements & amendments; expediting all contract documents sent out for execution. Works closely with Trade Contractors, Vendors, and Jobsite Personnel, supporting internal and external customers

Education Requirement: BS Degree in business, engineering or related field preferred.
