Construction Safety Advisor

Safety Management Group has immediate openings for Construction Project Safety Advisors to assist with comprehensive industrial construction turnaround projects occurring this year throughout Indiana and Illinois.


These advisors will be paired with contractors who are performing work on turnarounds (power plants and petroleum refineries) for the purpose of assisting in the safe completion of the projects. Job duties will include safety training, performance of site observation walkarounds, creation and distribution of observation reports, and follow-up with contractor representatives to ensure noted deficiencies are corrected.


Advisors will also serve as a resource for interpretation and compliance with applicable regulatory and owner safety standards and procedures.


Relevant construction safety management experience is required and other educational background and training will be viewed favorably for these positions. These are not entry-level positions and legitimate prior experience in the construction safety field is a requirement.




Applicants must be knowledgeable of construction safety and adept at effectively communicating with craft personnel and contractor representatives. Applicants must also be able to spend many hours per day walking through construction sites and documenting observations.




Competitive compensation is being offered for these short-term positions. There is no guarantee that these positions will be staffed after the turnarounds are completed.
