Contract Accountant

1. What are the major objectives or outcomes to be accomplished by the person in this job?

Manage sales contracts and related data and info from sale to close for the purchase of new houses.


2. What are the most frequent and most essential work activities in this job?

Audits, enters and updates all contract information in several databases. Coordinates contract information between Mortgage Co., Title Co, Sales, Construction and Management ' Analyze several balance sheet accounts ' Special projects as assigned.

3. What people and how many are managed by the person in this job?

N/A.

4. What are the primary people contacts in this job? (With whom? What purpose? How often?)

The individual will work directly with the Assistant Controller, Contract Accountants, Chief Financial Officer, Controller and have day-to-day contact with several departments within the division.

5. What behavioral traits, attitudes and skills are required?

Individual must be organized and detail oriented as well as being able to continually deal with multiple tasks. They must be a team player and have excellent computer, communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills.

6. What are the prerequisites for employment? (Education, prior experience, other)

Accounting/Finance degree (or working towards) and/or three to four years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Excel, Word and Access helpful.

7. What are the toughest parts of this job on a day-to-day basis?

The toughest part of this job is balancing priorities, objectives, tasks and daily challenges.
