Contracts Manager

The Contracts Managers job family is responsible for directing all work activities associated with Contract development and administration.  This is a top level management position functioning on a mega project or at the division level. Supervises and coordinates the following: preparation of proper forms, documents and formats in relation to Contract planning, formation and negotiation; the administration, issuance, evaluation and documentation of contract activities; and the preparation, direction and monitoring of contracting policies and procedures. Monitors project performance to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations and the terms and conditions of the Contract. dentifies potential problem areas as early as possible. Manages Contract plan preparation to include the development of schedules, preparation of lists of potential qualified contractors, and preparation of bidder's lists for individual Contracts. Maintains contact with client and company representatives regarding status of various Contracts to protect client and company interest by verifying that contractual activities and records are in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

Requires

 

Must be highly experienced with Design-Build Prime Contracts and subcontracts and agreements. 

Must be familiar and experienced with construction claims and DRBs.  Must be knowledgable in construction and contract law. 

Must be computer literate in MS Word and Excel and possess excellent writing and analytical skills. 

Must be a good communicator able to give presentations.  Must be proficient in plan reading and be able to read and interpret codes and specifications.

 

Education: a bachelors degree in engineering, business, law

Experience: 15 years experience in heavy civil contract administration, project management, business administration, law, scheduling, cost, materials, procurement or engineering.
