Craftworker Trainer

 

The Craftworker Trainer reports to the Employee Development Coordinator.  The individual in this salaried exempt position is responsible for developing and managing craft training programs for hourly field employees. This individual will work closely with the project team and the Employee Development Coordinator to create educated, skilled workers with the necessary tools and guidance to help build their careers. 

 

Generally, the candidate should be a Certified NCCER Master Trainer, or meet the following requirements to become certified; two years of experience as a trainer, instructor, educator, or possess an associates degree or higher in education, a construction-related field, industrial arts, engineering, chemistry, or a minimum of two years of experience at a supervisory level or higher in the construction, maintenance, or pipeline industry.

 

The individual must be a self-starter, and have excellent communication, oral, written, and computer skills.  The individual must also have the ability to instruct and train.  Spanish bilingual skills are required.

 

Specific responsibilities include the following:

 

1. Obtain and retain NCCER Certification as a Master Trainer.

 

2. Coordinate the craft certification process for those employees with certifiable skills.

 

3. Prepare, update, coordinate, and administer relevant training, materials, and curricula.

 

4. Develop, manage, and recommend appropriate initiatives of craft training programs.

 

5. Design training programs that meet the specific needs of the assigned projects.

 

6. Design training programs that develop skills appropriate for career advancement.

 

7. Monitor the effectiveness of the craftworker training programs on assigned projects.

 

8. Prepare all necessary evaluations, reports, and recommended changes to training programs for consideration by the Company's Operations Committee.

 

9. Build and maintain liaisons with vendors and other outside training resources in the area.

 

10. Additional duties as assigned.
