Credit Collection Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Credit / Collection Specialist recommends appropriate extensions of credit and ensures timely payment from customers using excellent analysis, communication and negotiation skills.

 

Specific responsibilities include:
Review requests for credit, gathering additional information as needed to make appropriate recommendations for credit extension to customers
Contact customers as payment becomes due, to ensure timely payment and resolve payment issues
Using telephone, e-mail, fax and letter, communicate with customers regarding payment of their accounts
Keep Sales team, Accounting, and Terex Financial Services informed of customer payment status for a consistent message to customers
Research and resolve invoices that have cash application questions.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

? Associate degree in accounting preferred and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.

? 3 to 5 years of credit/collection experience.

? Computer skills should include: Word, Excel and Outlook.

? Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

? Familiarity with Dun & Bradstreet reports and other resources to evaluate credit worthiness.

? Demonstrated ability to accurately determine commercial customers? net worth and liquidity.

? Excellent problem solving skills.

? Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
