DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION

We are seeking a Director of Construction for our growing company headquartered in Ogden, Utah.  Flying J Inc is in the process of building 200+ new Travel Plazas in both the US & Canada.  With 2005 sales approaching 10billion we have been ranked 30th on the Forbes 500 listing for the largest privately held companies in the US.  The time is right to make a difference for a world class outfit.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:Leading new construction and remodels to ensure projects are completed in accordance to standards, on time and within budget. Providing leadership to Construction managers, project managers; recruiting, directing and supervising staff to ensure they are appropriately motivated, trained and able to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with standards.  Direct company new construction and remodel projects including budgeting; scheduling; plan development; permitting and approvals; qualifying, bidding, and contracting for general contractors; maintaining budgets and cost controls; managing change order process and project closeouts. Monitor and report on project progress in a structured manner Manage outsourced and in-house construction services 

 

Job Requirements:

?  Minimum of 10 years experience in Commercial Construction

?  Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field.

?  Experience in supervising Construction Project Managers

?  Self-motivating and able to take initiative

?  Leadership and team building
