ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT, TOP TIER COMPANY AND NOT ANOTHER CONDO
ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT, TOP TIER COMPANY AND NOT ANOTHER CONDO
THE JOB: We need a genuine, proven, big projects electrical superintendent, and will provide opportunity, stability and compensation that make us a last stop employer.
We are a well-managed, stable $50+ million dollar electrical construction company with a history of profitably undertaking some of the largest and most complex electrical construction on the East Coast of Florida including airports, federal facilities, hospitals, universities, office complex work, utility construction services, corporate campus work, and high density multifamily. Our success is reflected in a number of ways. We are one of the larger integrated electrical constructors on the East Coast, we make money, and we do business through a wide variety of channels that our ?competitors? do not, or cannot.
We are a business with distinct specialties, and we approach markets that are generally independent of one another and cycle differently in the economy.
We look at our greatest success as the tenure of our key players. We keep our hitters. This is a company in which you will find long-term employees across the front row. To have ten years with us in a superintendent?s role is not unusual. Reasonable, field savvy managers who have realistic perspectives and create plans that other committed professionals wish to follow are what we rely on. That is the hallmark of our business. We make it possible for employees to work for us, grow and advance across a lifetime. If you do your part, we will certainly do ours. The person we seek wants to invest in and build a career with a strong house. You will find professional management here with electrical heads and exceptional business heads. Brilliant leadership is fair to say.
All vendors welcome our business. We pay everybody on time. We have large bonding capacity.
What is important to you to grow a career and make incentive money is a ceaseless flow of premiere jobs that will present challenges, and afford an experienced hand enough maneuvering room to meaningfully alter the costs of those jobs and make money on those jobs. Deep and complex work equals opportunity for sharp guys. There is not a great opportunity for creativity, field engineering and labor optimization on a cookie cutter Wal-Mart. Done 1,000 times before, from switchgear to precise elevations, the plans and specs are tight, the owner has seen at all before, and there are no jewels to mine there. We have jobs with meat and loose ends that spell opportunity for the seasoned pro. While we do on occasion do high-rise multi-family, the jobs coming up are not condo jobs.
What we need is a big job electrical superintendent that has managed $ 5 -10 million dollar scale electrical constructions and has handled installations that begin with significant primary power distributions, and run from those medium voltage beginnings all the way to low voltage distribution, systems (access control, CCTV) and lighting.
Our vision of superintendent is the person that oversees all field activity, and is the liaison to labor, project management, and very often directly to the general contractors and owners.
A master scheduler and competent administrator, past experience has provided the superintendent we seek with strong budget management and productivity assessment skills. The person we seek is an expert at allocating and applying labor. It was and is always the perfect balance and optimized staffing at every stage of the projects you ran in the past, and that distinguishes you.
Along with scheduling, technical and administrative detail planning is part of the job. The superintendent we seek knows how to organize material delivery, coordinate equipment, assess specialty tool needs, perfectly balance manpower, provide layout assistance, troubleshoot field issues, juggle employee problems, manage customer concerns, mentor field hands, provide technical assistance and handle our subcontractors all day, every day. The person we are looking for sees every construction site and facility in three dimensions automatically.
We seek a person that understands how to work with a project manager from the review of an estimate, to coordinated teamwork in working with the clients and GCs. We need a person that teams up easily.
It would be great if you have worked with or at least understand quantitative reporting to measure daily productivity. The professional we are looking for is comfortable and efficient in reporting on productivity, costs, job impediments, and job progress issues.
We need a politically sharp professional who has meeting(s) experience and coordination skills, knowing how to position the company and the crew to maximum advantage, and how to effectively negotiate under the supervision of a GC with other trades getting what is needed without becoming the enemy or being branded as a cry baby.
We are a quality shop, and we expect that the superintendent will uphold standards not only for productivity, but also for craftsmanship.
The superintendent will be responsible for setting standards, practice and administering the safety program on the job. The welfare of the employees is a principal concern, and safety is a top priority for our business.
Finally, we would like to find a strong layout person.
