Acts as liaison to millwright crews or other construction trades, works to maintain outage schedules and construction quality as well as coordinate construction tasks. Monitors activities at construction sites. Works to ensure construction progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to. Inspects construction site daily and works with contractors to schedule deliveries. Requires a bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requires Requires power plant project management experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to read technical drawings and specifications, prior experience with steam turbines, ability to manage construction contractors and maintain scheduling requirements. Desired (not required) qualifications include prior experience with power plant steam generator equipment, prior experience in a project leadership role, including contractor and vendor management, experience working with millwrights in the field. Job environment may include exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, heights, and confined spaces. 40 hours work week with additional time as required by projects and outage schedules. Day shift with the flexibility to work night hours occasionally as necessary.. DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT 6 MONTHS WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION. ANTICIPATED START DATE September 1 2006.
