Environment, Health & Safety Coordinator

Reporting to the North America Site Activity Manager, the Environment and Health and Safety Coordinator has the responsibility to ensure that all the activities perform on site are in accordance with all company policies and laws and regulations.

 
Prepare, update and implement processes, instructions or other documentation required to ensure the application of the EHS requirements.
Conducts periodic site EHS compliance audits by evaluating workplace safety, performing site hazards analysis, and determining employee exposure. Reports findings and makes recommendations to the Site Manager or Site Activity management representatives and ensure proper follow-up action.
Perform the EHS duties related to a specific contract requirements on a defined site that an EHS coordinator needs to be assigned for the duration of the project.
Maintains all site required documentation related to safety issues, i.e. accident reports, OSHA 200 Log, etc. Ensures all accidents are properly investigated, forms are submitted as required and accident investigation reports and associated bills are submitted to Human Resources as required.
Ensure all Field Service employees receive established safety training.
Assist the site activity team with other general duties on site and in the Head Office such as site supervisor, site coordination, quality representative, ?

 

Solving Problems
Adapt ALSTOM standard processes and program to a specific project and client.
Perform root causes analysis related to an accident and recommend and implement the corrective actions.

 Decision Making
Figure out with the site managers the optimum solution for a specific EHS problem.
Recommend improvement in site activity operations to reduce cost and increase performance on EHS.

 

Qualifications
High school diploma required, College and/or Trade school a plus.
Pertinent knowledge and training in EHS.
2-4 years experience in construction sites environment.

 

 Other Consideration
High level of travelling for short and long term assignment.
International travel may be possible.
Motivated to learn and grow up in the company will be a plus.
Need to be opened to perform duties outside of EHS field.
