REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

InStar Services Group, a national disaster recovery and restoration company with offices located throughout the United States is currently seeking a Regional Environmental Health & Safety Manager. This is an expansion position located in Safety Harbor/Tampa, Florida, and reporting to the SVP of Human Resources and Director of EH&S.
General Purpose of the Position:
The EHS Regional Manager is a consultant and advisor to the Company?s Business Units, providing support and technical assistance in administration of and compliance with Federal, State, local, and Company EHS requirements. The EHS Manager recommends, develops, and implements programs that maintain safe and healthful working conditions and promote protection against accidents, illnesses, and injuries also assists in communication and implementation of EHS procedures. The EHS Regional Manager leads the development of robust programs that ensure regulatory compliance and good environmental stewardship. This position reports to the Director of EHS with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Business Unit head and requires travel 50% to 80% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

????????? Supports and assists line management and field operations personnel in the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
????????? Assists in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
????????? Develops good working relationships with all levels of Federal, State, and local agency personnel, as needed, to facilitate agency inquiries.
????????? Establishes contact with and evaluates the capabilities of outside EHS service providers.
????????? Communicates the impacts of existing and emerging regulatory issues and changes.
????????? Conducts branch office and jobsite compliance audits and develops action plans to close identified gaps.
????????? Performs work site hazard assessments, identifies unsafe acts or conditions or unsafe behaviors.
????????? Performs Job Safety Analysis and assist in the development of related training tools.
????????? Provides recommendations for corrective action to the branch office and divisional management team.
????????? Coordinates and/or delivers Company and regulatory agency mandated training, maintains records as needed.
????????? Participates in monthly meetings for branch office operations.
????????? Responds to and investigates accidents and incidents, as needed. Supports worker?s compensation case management tasks and return to work activities.
????????? Assists in developing and maintaining accident and injury statistics.
????????? Maintains centralized Safe Plan of Action tracking database.
????????? Coordinates Contractor compliance performance standards and advises management of needed corrective action.
????????? Coordinates and ensures completion of all DOT related licenses, training, and filings for Regional CDL licensed drivers.
????????? Assists other regional EHS Managers, as needed.
????????? Performs other assignments as directed by the Director of EHS.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
?
????????? Strong research and computer skills. Proficient in use of MS Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and MSWord and database development and/or management.
????????? Strong verbal and writing skills and ability write, edit, and communicate procedures and policies.
????????? Ability to conduct regulatory and other research and analysis and make written recommendations relative to findings.
????????? Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees one-on-one or in group settings.
????????? Familiarity with ISO 14001, 9001 and ANSI Z10 and X15 management systems.
????????? Multi-dwelling and single family housing construction experience preferred.
????????? Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Education and Work Experience Required:
????????? BS or BA in Environmental, Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene specialty, or equivalent with 3 years of experience. Or, advanced degree with 1 year experience.
????????? Maintain or obtain appropriate EHS professional credentials.
