Estimator



The Estimator will report directly to the Estimating Manager and work closely with the Operations Team which includes; Architectural Drafting, FAST (Fieldstone?s homebuilding software), and Homefitting as well as trade partners. This person would be expected to positively reflect high customer satisfaction standards (internal and external) and be able to communicate effectively with all functions in the company. The Estimator would maintain all applicable databases used in developing cost, quantity, and unit price estimates. 

 

 

Duties

 Maintain accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates for each plan, including options, using FAST and Microsoft Excel.Prepare Performa estimates in an expedient manner utilizing at a minimum, comparative and differential estimating techniques.Perform and maintain the field audit process plus verification of quantities.Communicate and distribute takeoff information and plans to vendors.Research and implement cost saving techniques. Assist the Estimating Manager with other miscellaneous duties such as collecting rebates, tracking direct costs, researching new vendors, etc.

Qualifications:

 College Degree in a related field preferredProficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)2+ years of Estimating experienceKnowledge of residential production home building including local building codes and all construction related activities
