Estimator - HOLDRITE "VIP Service"

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

 

This position is responsible for performing Holdrite material ?Takes-Offs?/?VIP Estimating? for multi-family, commercial and industrial plumbing projects.  Provide a full range of cost estimation and analysis support to the Director of New Business Development.  Secondary responsibilities include:  Estimate client follow-up, customer service, product development input, limited field research and sales staff assistance.

 

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

The following job functions are not all-inclusive.  The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the supervisor.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.

 

1. Develop material cost estimates and quotations for multi-family, commercial and industrial plumbing and piping projects in response to requests for proposals (RFP) from prospective customers.Analyze specifications and blueprints.Provide cost and benefit analyses and cost proposal evaluation.Develop and track estimate at completion.Recommend appropriate Holdrite product applications for plumbing and piping projects.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 10 years of plumbing industry experience.  Should have foreperson experience with residential and commercial. Experienced in successful oversight of large commercial high rise projects with sizeable crews.  Estimating experience, both residential and commercial.  Extensive drafting and blueprint reading skills and thorough plumbing code knowledge. Must have good mathematical skills.  Incumbent must have Microsoft Office skills proficiency:  MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Outlook to prepare own documents and spreadsheets.  This position may travel occasionally on Company business and requires a valid driver?s license.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

 

This position receives regular supervision and instructions from supervisor.  Incumbent?s work is reviewed by Supervisor on a weekly basis. 

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

This position currently has no supervisory responsibility.

 

INTERACTION WITH OTHERS: 

 

This position interacts frequently with Company management, Regional Sales Mangers and sales staff.  Externally and internally this position interfaces frequently customers, potential customers and sales representatives.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB: 

 

This position requires constant sitting, hearing, use of hands and fingers and eye-hand coordination.  This position also requires frequent talking, and occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, turning or bending at waist, foot-hand-eye coordination, throwing or tossing and reaching with hands and arms.  Incumbent must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.  This position requires good close, distance, color and peripheral vision, good depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  This position travels away from the worksite occasionally

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

 

This position works primarily indoors in an office setting when performing work at the Company?s main facility.  When traveling, this position may be exposed to varying outdoor weather conditions and any conditions associated with travel by plane or car.  A moderate noise level is typical for the work environment of this job while in an office setting; occasionally while in the manufacturing area, this position may be exposed to loud noise.

 

USE OF DISCRETION AND INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:

 

This position has the authority to make decisions relating to production schedules and material.  This position makes material decisions that impact customer requirements.  This position uses discretion to influence prioritization of product shipments and sales forecasts.

 

IMPACT OF POSITION ON ORGANIZATION: 

 

This position makes recommendations to management and carries out decisions relating to cost and benefit analysis.  An error on the part of incumbent could have serious legal and damaging consequences to the Company.
