Summary

 

Responsible for preparing detailed Annual Operating Plan with monthly updates and comparative performance analysis, special studies and reports as requested by management.  Also responsible for bank reconciliations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Assists in preparation of Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan.

 

Prepares monthly outlooks (updates to the Plan) which include activities such as the following:

 

? updating databases and Excel spreadsheets;

 

? manipulating, reformatting and presenting data;

 

? printing monthly income statements and production schedules;

 

? preparing comparative variance analysis schedules of current outlook-to-plan, current outlook to prior outlook, quarterly actual and year-to-date actual results;

 

? transmitting annual plan and monthly outlook data to SAP; and

 

? responding to inquiries and special requests from management.

 

Reconciles all company bank accounts.

 

Designs, programs and maintains planning database.

 

Education and/or Experience  

 

Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four years of related experience required in accounting or financial planning.  Experience in oil and gas accounting and/or planning and thorough knowledge of the industry preferred.  Knowledge of financial planning and accounting principles and procedures is required.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

 

Strong computer skills, especially with database systems.  Working knowledge of SAP, Alpha 4 and Essbase preferred.  Must be proficient with MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.  Must also be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize work. Should have ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, and translate information into graphics and present numerical data effectively.  Strong interpersonal skills are a must.

 

Certifications

 

Certified Public Accountant or candidate preferred.
