General Manager - Construction Services - Roanoke, VA

Mid sized construction services company (home remodeling) seeks a General Manager to run its Roanoke, VA office. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of management experience (preferably in a construction or home improvement related environment) and a 4 year college degree. GENERAL MANAGER

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

? Managing all functions within the Branch, including:

1. Overseeing the recruitment and hiring of installers and trades people.

2. Ensuring timely completion of jobs.

3. Strengthening relationships with partner retailers and clients.

4. Managing branch profitability. GM is responsible for the management of all branch functions, including:

? Recruiting, contracting, and training of all installers and contractors.

? Overseeing the contracting of work to installers to ensure that jobs are completed on a timely basis, to the satisfaction of the customer.

? Managing installer capacity in a way as to minimize lead times and maximize customer satisfaction.

? Overseeing the recruitment and hiring of qualified installers.

? Primary responsibility for resolving customer issues by:

1. Visiting the job site, if necessary, to evaluate the problem.

2. Working with partner retailers and clients to resolve all issues

? Assisting in store training by:

1. Attending Store Meetings.

2. Teaching Installation Standards and Practices.

? Retaining full accountability and responsibility for branch performance, including cost controls, capital expenditures and profitability for a multi-million dollar operation.

? Ensuring that results meet & exceed performance standards and metrics

? Overseeing administrative functions, including supervising office and warehouse personnel

? Demonstrating leadership and building and maintaining positive morale

? Coordinating work with Office Support Center to ensure that all data entry, scheduling, and customer job management functions are occurring on a consistent and timely basis.

 

Minimum Qualifications Required

 

? BA or BS preferable

? 3+ years of program management experience (preferably in a construction environment)

? Project management skills required

? Multi-functional and management experience preferred ? Strong written and verbal communication skills

? Attention to detail

? Proficiency with major desktop applications (Word, Excel, Explorer, etc..)
