We have different levels of superintendent positions available based on a candidates leadership ability, experience, and overall skill set. Our client uses a vertically integrated process to purchase, entitle, and develop land prior to selling, building, and servicing our homes. Land Development Superintendents are responsible for supervising subcontractors as they survey, move earth, set utilities, and build roads throughout our communities. They must ensure quality and drive the project schedule to ensure the timely and cost effective completion of each project. The ability to manage multiple communities and lead other superintendents is critical to growing a career in our land department. Responsibilities: Use your outstanding interpersonal skills to maintain a ?firm but fair? relationship with all subcontractors (trade partners) and vendors Execute plans, motivate others, and drive through ANY obstacles that stand in the way of delivering a flawlessly developed community Drive on-time-delivery by understanding and controlling the construction schedule Lead subcontractor meetings to address scheduling, quality trends, and teamwork Drive variable costs out of the land development process by rigorously adhering to our best practices Utilize our state of the art Information Technology system that seamlessly merges data input, queries, and reports ? allowing you to MAXIMIZE your time in the FIELD Develop overall understanding for the acquisition, entitlement, and development phases of our land operation Contribute as an active member of the creative team that develops the overall plan and layout for new communities Attend weekly meetings with home-building team to assist them with timely resolution of land-related issues Relentlessly upgrade your knowledge and professionalism.

 

Experience and Skills:

 Proven track record of leading people and managing complex projects Attention to detail and the courage to execute tough decisions in a decisive manner Ability to read engineering documents and drawings and process information quickly Strong and genuine interpersonal skills that build partnerships and result in life-long relationships Ability to handle high levels of stress while rising to the challenge every day Construction experience preferred Ability to walk on uneven ground, climb a ladder, and lift 20 pounds Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred High school diploma or GED equivalent acceptable; high school diploma or GED equivalent a must Proficient with computers ? especially Microsoft Office
