Maintenance Electrical Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for all electrical engineering on underground mine site, which includes: power distribution systems,

 control systems, instrumentation systems and communication systems.  Responsible for maintaining records, short and long range planning and engineering and safety compliance.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

? Oversee electrical systems installation, commissioning and maintenance

? Maintain regulatory compliance

? Write AFE?s as needed by the electrical department

? Work to insure that site electrical documentation of all equipment is kept current.

? Provide technical support as required to electricians

? Project work as assigned

? Control costs and maintain budget objectives for electrical department

? Provide technical training to electricians

? Comply with MSHA/NEC requirements and standards

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Minimum 3 years experience in electrical engineering and an Electrical Engineering DegreeFamiliarity with power, control, instrumentation and communication systems applicable to mining or utility industriesFamiliarity with Short Circuit, Arc/Fault Studies, Relay Settings, Design/Build Projects, Power Quality Studies, General Power ProblemsFamiliarity Analysis and solutions, Metering and Communication systemsLow to High voltage experience with industry or utility background. Excellent problem solving and analytical skillsExcellent computer skillsGood written and verbal communication skills are a must as you will work with various departmentsFamiliarity with state and federal electrical regulations and codes
