Maintenance Foreman

Keys: High School graduation or its equivalent is required.

Courses in mechanics, basic electrical wiring, brakes, and hydraulics are required.

 

Three (3) to five (5) years experience in mechanics, including the service and maintenance of trucks and heavy

equipment. Some supervisory experience is needed.

 

Advanced knowledge of the mechanics of trucks and heavy equipments, air brake systems, hydraulic systems, diesel engines,

transmissions, and electrical wiring and schematics. Skilled in operating and maintaining trucks and equipment. Skilled in

entering and retrieving data from computer. Ability to trouble shoot problems and resolve issues. Ability to maintain

positive relations with staff, vendors, and management personnel.

 

Communicates clearly and listens carefully in an open and candid consistent manner.

Establishes trust with team members, stating clear expectations and accountabilities. Recognizes group morale and acts to

protect or build as necessary.

Must be able to ask a series of probing questions to go beyond surface issues and fully understand the components of a

problem and its root causes.

Must have awareness of shop/garage hazards.

May be required to lift heavy parts up to 100 pounds.

 

Duties:

Coordinates the daily, weekly, and monthly repairs of heavy equipment, plant support equipment, mixer fleet, and trucks.

Provides guidance, training, and supervision to shop personnel. Analyzes and trouble shoots equipment failures.

Coordinates purchasing and invoicing. Maintains equipment records, and equipment licenses and registrations. Complieswith all city, state, and Federal EPA laws.
