Pavement Marking Technician/Striper

POSITION SUMMARY:
Painting highways, streets and parking surfaces by using manually propelled or mechanically propelled machines, brushes, rollers or spray guns; Installing any device or application of any material used in lieu of paint for traffic direction, including, without limitation, buttons, tapes, plastics, rumble bars and other similar materials

Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in traffic control signing and marking operations.
Knowledge of the practices, techniques and equipment used in the safe and effective application of paint sprays and thermoplastic stripe.
Knowledge of the practices and techniques of traffic control.
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and county policies, procedures, codes and ordinances.
Knowledge of established safety rules and regulations.
Skill in operating paint sprayers and various paint striping and marking motorized equipment.
One (1) year of power equipment operations experience.
Possession of a valid State Class 'B' Driver's License.
Work is performed primarily in an outdoor environment.
May be required to lift and carry items more than 50 pounds.
May be exposed to dangerous machinery, potential physical harm, hazardous chemicals, extreme weather conditions and infectious diseases.
