Purchasing Agent

Integrity, Inc. is the leading provider of specialized recruiting for the homebuilding and land development industries. We are currently looking for a Purchasing Agent.

 

Position Summary:

 

Performs functions to maximize worth/net income by increasing profits and reducing expenses through purchasing related operational tasks; by ensuring accuracy, timing and completeness of reporting; and developing and adhering to financial and operational procedures implemented by the Purchasing Department management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities to be Performed:

 Supervises timely distribution of bid packages and coordinates  bid comparison reports for new communities and construction phases;Sets up cost codes for all purchasing systems, reviews bids for all direct construction costs; maintains budgets for assigned communities;Researches new subcontractors for qualifications and minimum mandatory hiring standards; assists in the expansion of the trade base.Oversees Purchase Orders and Work Orders for new starts;Assists Purchasing Coordinator with vendor account reconciliations and service;Approves Extra Work Orders/Purchase Order for Purchasing Coordinator processing;Maintains both internal and external community Options Offered price book;Reviews and analyzes Residential Construction Agreements and contract Change Orders; make subcontracting recommendations to Purchasing Manager.Processes non-standard pricing requests; prepares for Purchasing Manager approval.Approves general and administrative work orders and purchase orders for assigned communities;Approves model set and maintenance work orders and purchase orders for assigned communities; communicates to Division Accountant all commitments.Supervises subcontractor insurance and licensing requirements; assists in all aspects of vendor maintenance.

 

 

Other Duties & Responsibilities to be Performed:

 Reviews Bid Comparison Reports;Reviews and approves Preferred Vendor Listings prior to distributionReviews Preliminary Budgets as designated;Reviews Options Offered Report prior to distribution;Assists in annual department budget preparation;Special projects as assigned.

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

 

Note:  The incumbent must possess these skills and abilities or explain and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities.

 Knowledge of general business practices and administrative functions are required, preferably within the home building industry.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

 Computer skills, including Excel Spreadsheet experience is required.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma, Four year (4) degree preferred;

 

Three (3) or more years purchasing experience; preferably with (1) one or more years in the home building industry; or

 

Equivalent combination of education and experience.
