Rubio?s is currently seeking a Project Manager to join the Corporate Office Team in Carlsbad, California.

Job Description

?

The Project Manager?s primary accountability is to manage the construction process on all capital projects, with major focus being placed on building the projects within the approved budget, within the scheduled time frame and opening schedule, to achieve the established ?Sales Weeks? goal.? The Project Manager will also act to support the franchisees to assist and direct them through the ?development process?.? This will become a major focus.? The Project Manager will maintain direct communications with Franchisees, Operations, Vendors, Architectural Manager, Design Manager, Real Estate Manager, General Contractors, Landlords and Developers.

Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to Managing the entire construction process from start to restaurant opening to ensure completion on schedule and within the approved budget to meet or exceed established ?Sales Weeks? goal; Acting as primary support for Franchisees to guide and direct them through their new unit development while ensuring compliance with Rubio?s standards; Managing approved field ?Change Orders? to less than 5% of contract on all capital projects; Teaming with the Architectural Manager, Design Manager and Real Estate Manager to assist in the budget preparation for RESAC approval; Representing Rubio?s at governmental review and hearings to assist in project approval; Managing the bidding or negotiation process with General Contractors on all capital projects; Proactively work with Landlords and Developers on all projects to ensure accurate new unit forecasting; Working with Landlords and Shell Contractors to ensure compliance of Exhibit B requirements prior to commencement of construction; Ensuring restaurants are built in strict compliance with the construction documents and approved specifications for a smooth turnover to the Operations partners and successful store openings; Maintaining open and effective communication with all participating parties through use of e-mail, telephone, written correspondence, etc., to ensure smooth and timely completions and successful openings.

The qualified candidate will have a Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or similar field (preferred). Minimum of (5) five years experience in construction management, preferably in fast-track restaurant development.
