Retail Construction Superintendent

A nationwide retail general contractor is currently seeking experienced and seasoned SUPERINTENDENTS to supervise and coordinate all construction trades for retail store build outs across the United States, particularly the following areas:  Eastern Seaboard and Midwest.  Store sizes range from 500-200,000 square feet.  Assignments for each project are made based on the ability level of each employee.

 

Anyone wishing to apply for this position must be willing and able to meet the following JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Applicant must have 5+ years experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager in commercial construction (retail construction preferably).  3-5 references (citing specific projects) are requested for each candidate applying for this position.Applicants must be trained and capable of maintaining OSHA standards on the project sites, with weekly meetings for all workers on site.Travel is required most of the time, unless the project is located in an area where the applicant lives.Applicant must provide their own vehicle.  Travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis.Applicant must be a pro active communicator, with scheduling skills (either critical path or linear bar charts) and be willing to communicate with the Project Manager on a daily basis (with photos, expenses, and job logs submitted on a weekly basis).Applicant must be able to interpret blueprints and specifications, represent the company during building/trade inspections, work with the retail operations team for each store, and objectively handle/settle disputes among the members of the project team.Applicant must be willing to engage in other duties or tasks, as required or assigned by the Project Managers or Vice Presidents from time to time, to insure the success of the project.Applicant must be a United States citizen with the minimum of a high school diploma (some college or trade experience is preferred).
