Safety Representative

MEI LLC has an immediate need for a Safety Representative for an 18 month project in Lehi, Utah.  This project position is responsible for the overall administration of project safety, accountability programs, accident and fire protection programs and maintaining full compliance with company, client and state/federal safety regulations.  Requires experience in the construction and/or semiconductor industry. 

 

Duties include:

?Assists in promoting safe work practices with project management and superintendents.

?Participates in field safety meetings.

?  Investigates personal injury, property damage or near-miss accidents. 

?Removes employees from unsafe working environments and activities, including stopping work if necessary.

? Conducts training (as required) for employee orientations, or as may be required to maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations. 

 

Qualifications include:

? OSHA 30 hour training or equivalent documented construction safety training within last five years.

?  OSHA 500 training or equivalent.

? Ability to train others.

? Minimum of 3 years construction experience.

? Thorough understanding of all federal, state and company safety regulations.

? Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.

? Good interpersonal and communication skills.
