Job Description 



Job Title:   Insulation and Related Products Sales Representative

Reports To: Branch Manager

 

SUMMARY

Sells products to general, residential, and commercial building contractors by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from the Branch, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.  Takes measurements from blueprints or at the construction site and sends a quote to the builder.Totally manages customer relationships including problem resolution and educating customers on our products and servicesQuotes prices and credit terms and prepares purchase orders for orders obtained.Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of the Branch?s delivery schedules.Keeps expense accounts.Coordinates customer training.  Educates customers on our products and services.Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.Develops and maintains relationships with customers.Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.Attends trade shows.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Able to take off measurements from blueprints.  Exceptional interpersonal skills.  Good communicator.  Assertive.  Competitive.  Good problem solving ability.  Demonstrated organizational skills.  Independent and self motivated with a high ego strength and resilience.  Possesses a sense of urgency.  Able to work with a production team.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school graduate with 3 to 5 years experience in some aspect of the construction business.
