SR. ARCHITECTURAL/CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ESTIMATOR

 

Jacobs Engineering is searching for a Sr. Estimator to lead a local team of estimators with the potential of becoming our North Dallas/University Park office?s next Chief Estimator.  This is excellent growth opportunity for someone with strong lateral leadership, proactive communication, and people skills.  The ability to plan, on a daily basis, various priorities for each project and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with each accountable team member, including developers, consultants, subcontractors, Federal agencies, and outside municipal agencies.

 

Proven track record in the following areas is needed for your growth:Ability to complete the Preconstruction activities per schedule and budget High degree of computer literacy with skills in M II Cases and Timberline Software. Establish and maintain a standard cost model. Prepare preliminary project budgets Prepare detailed estimates at various stages of project development. Review project documents, prepare cost analysis and recommend value engineering. Prepare Owner change orders Prepare subcontractor?s change orders Build and maintain a subcontractors/suppliers database, including market trends Participate in Project closeout, post mortem and implement lessons learned. Estimate-develop estimating packages for projects from $1m to in excess of $100m. Assist Project Services Manager in developing Jr. Estimators.

 

Requirements: This position requires a BS or MS in Construction, plus 10-15 years experience in Senior Estimating.Ideal candidate will be skilled in material take-off and pricing based on productivity not square foot for divisions 1-14.Necessary in depth experience includes Federal, Hospital & Healthcare facilities (to include Laboratories), Schools (K-12) and Commercial buildings as well as Regional Correction Facilities, Federal and State Courthouses, Bio-Tech laboratories and commercial buildings. Experience developing estimates in conjunction with design only and design/build scenarios.
