Senior Estimator and Estimator

Estimators review project drawings and work with subcontractors and suppliers to develop accurate projections of project costs, including materials, manpower and equipment. Qualifications include the ability to read construction drawings and interpret project specifications. A bachelor's degree in construction, architecture, engineering or a related field is preferred.

 

MDEL, a commercial developing and general contracting company, currently has TWO openings for General Construction Estimators .  One of the positions is a Senior Estimator; the other is an Estimator. 

 

Candidates for the position of Senior Estimator should have at least 8 years' experience.

 

Candidates for the position of Estimator should have more than 2 years' experience. 

 

Both positions require at lease a Bachelor's degree in Construction management, engineering or a related field, or comparable field experience.

Profile: General Construction Estimator is responsible for generating all estimating deliverables required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years General Construction estimating experience on projects having estimated costs ranging from $1 million - $30+ million. Estimating experience from conceptual thru construction document phases required. Knowledge of estimating software?s, Microsoft Excel and Word preferable.

Responsibilities: Office responsibilities include, but are not limited to: generating estimating deliverables, ability to develop accurate conceptual cost models, understanding construction methods, productivity, equipment, systems and materials, keep track of current material & labor pricing including escalation, maintain relationships with subcontractors & material vendors, make meaningful value engineering contributions, ability to reconcile estimates with other consultants & design team, generating sound documentation for scope of work assumed in estimates, maintaining a well organized approach & disciplined work ethic, flexibility with assisting other disciplines beyond estimating responsibilities.

Education Requirement: The successful candidate should have a BS or MS [Engineering / Construction Management].
