Job Title:  Senior Planner/Scheduler

 

From a Purchase Order and/or Job Package, determine scope of work, activity list, duration of each resource, and material requirements. Develop job plan by sequencing activities. Individual must be capable of performing planning activities for large projects including large complex Turnarounds. Conduct schedule review meetings with all controlling disciplines. Provide expert judgment in working with execution team and clients when developing work-arounds to keep projects on schedule. Individual must be willing and able to perform complex mathematical computations in a spreadsheet software. Competent in import, export and linking spread sheets to scheduling software. Mentor and sponsor other scheduling staff. Individual must have experience in tracking / reporting project cost from a work package level.

 

Typical Duties:

 

1. Determine scope of work, activity list, duration of each resource, and material requirements from purchase orders and job packages.

 

2.   Develop job plans by sequencing activities.

 

3. Conduct schedule review meetings with all controlling disciplines on the project.

 

4. Provide expert judgment in working with execution team and clients when developing workarounds to keep projects on schedule.

 

5. Utilize project controls to plan, monitor, report status, identify areas of concern, and develop work-arounds to keep projects within plan.

 

6. Gather and report actual cost, comparing actual cost to estimated cost, and produce productivity reports to management.

 

Requirements:

 

1) Seven or more years relevant experience in planning/executing/scheduling construction projects.

 

2) Proven ability to implement and use project controls to plan, monitor, report status, identify areas of concern, and develop work-arounds to keep a project within plan.

 

 

3) Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products, and Primavera Project Planner (P3).

 

4) Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with field construction personnel as well as engineering and operations.

 

5) Demonstrates complete knowledge and understanding of project controls.

 

 

6) Read P&ID?s, Orthographic, and Isometric drawings.

7) Ability to facilitate meetings and perform schedule presentations.

8) Self Directed.
