Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in the development and implementation of project procedures and effectively manage project schedule and budget.

Organizational Relationship
Reports to Project Manager or designated supervisor. Coordinates activities with Field and Office personnel and directly manages other teams members as required in the execution of assigned responsibilities at the Jobsite Level.

Accountability
Accountable to the Project Manager for implementation of the project established procedures for achieving on time project completion within the financial goals. Ensure compliance with contract documents and Centex quality standards by effectively managing subcontractors and suppliers.

Authority
In accordance with Centex Construction guidelines and Project Manager concurrence, has authority to manage RFIs, submittals, proposals, safety program, subcontracts, purchase orders, schedule and owner / architect information exchange to achieve project goals.

Principal Responsibility and Duties
1. Corporate Survival - Financial Indicators
Change Order Control
' Recognizes and anticipates changes or potential changes.
' Creates Proposal Request on JMS and PR folders according Operations Procedures.
' Promptly distributes Proposals and reviews with project staff.
' Reviews for impact on schedule of Proposals.
' Promptly notifies Owner of potential cost and schedule impact.
' Identifies all subs/vendors that are affected and distributes RFPs accordingly.
' Maintains status of proposal with JMS and tickler board. Actively manages PR pricing to ensure proposals are submitted per contractual deadlines. Notifies delinquent subs.
' Reviews sub/vendor pricing for accuracy.
' Proficiently estimates Centex work and general conditions.
' Assembles and submits proposal to Owner in timely manner.
' Negotiates disputed proposals with Owner.
' Tracks status of Change Orders.
' Writes sub/vendor change orders and reviews for accuracy and completeness.
' Completes accurate OCO forms.

JCR and Labor Reports
' Understands different types of cost coding
' Accurate projections for cost of work
' Pending matters report
' Cost &Budget Transfers
' Familiar with General Cost Ledger

Safety Management
' Maintains MSDS sheets
' Accident Reporting
' Coordinate claims management with Loss Control Manager
' Reviews site for safety violations and takes action
' Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements
' Has Taken OSHA 10 Hr course.
' Taken and is current with First-Aid and CPR certification
' Participates in jobsite safety and helps maintains it.
' Participates in Safety Meetings and follows up on stated concerns
' Knowledge of Centex safety policies and procedures

Accounts Payable and Receivable
' Processes sub/vendor pay requests. Accurately reviews current billings against work-in-place.
' Assists in assembly and submission of Owner pay requests.
' Tracks receivable from Owner.

Requirements:

Degree in Construction Management or related degree required.
3 to 5 Years Commercial Construction Experience is required.
Proficiency in all basic software applications required. Flexibility on relocation is preferred.
