Senior Project Manager, Real Estate

Abyssinian Development Corporation (ADC) a leading Harlem based non-profit community development corporation dedicated to building the human, social and physical capital of Harlem is seeking a Senior Project Manager.  The Senior Project Manager  is responsible for the overall day to day management of all pre-development, development, construction, financing, sale, and/or leasing of projects, including negotiating, managing, and administrating all aspects of new constructions, renovations and system replacement from initial conception through project completion.  The Senior Project Manager reports to the Director of Development and Construction.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares estimates of development and operating costs for prospective projects Prepares proformas and conducts other financial analyses of current and planned projects Responds to request for proposals for development projects Prepares various documents associated with undertaking new development including applications and information forms. Supervises the marketing of ADC developed properties Monitors construction  activities for specific residential and/or commercial real estate development projects Identifies real estate development opportunities that can be undertaken by ADC Coordinates tenant relocationReviews and manages compliance with design and construction contracts with outside contractors to ensure good quality and high standards of work performance.

 OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE:Makes decisions and takes actions to expedite the completion of the construction process Participate in the development  of project policies and procedures Manages the planning, design, bid/award, construction and close out of capital construction projects to ensure that projects conform to quality standards, on time, and within budget. Oversee property management work of  hired staff  Other tasks as assigned by the Director, Development and Construction

   

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Business or Finance related field with three (3) years of work experience in the field of housing, commercial development or Graduate Degree with one (1) year work experience in a field related to real estate development

 

Specific Skills:

Knowledge of funding and approval processes of City, State and Federal Agencies as it relates to real estate development. Must have strong quantitative skills. Highly organized and possess good administrative skills.  Ability to appropriately interface with City Agencies on behalf of property and clients interest
