Shop Foreman - Construction Equipment Maintenance

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position in our Freeport, TX location:

 

Shop Foreman

 BASIC PURPOSE

 

This position ensures the rental fleet is in a ready state by scheduling maintenance in a timely manner.  This position works closely with the Inside Sales and Service Department to make sure that all equipment scheduled to be deployed is in an operational state.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.  Work with Inside Sales to insure that equipment needs and rental schedules are met.

2.  Perform mechanical work on an as-needed basis.

3.  Devise and distribute work schedules to mechanics.

4.  Performs on-the-job training of less experience/skilled mechanics.

5.  Maintain a clean and safe shop environment.

6.  Ensure proper inventory of consumable products such as oil, grease, shop supplies, etc.

7.  Deal with customers to assess maintenance needs and to schedule maintenance on customer equipment.

8.  Complete paperwork appropriate to the position.

9.  Insure paperwork from the mechanics meets standards.

10. Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

11. Other duties as required.

 

Responsibilities will vary by location depending on the type of equipment, the size of store, the type of clientele serviced and the size and expertise of the mechanic staff.

 EDUCATION

 

High school diploma or equivalent.

Trade school training preferred.

Vendor sponsored training (JLG, John Deere, Lull, etc.) preferred.

 EXPERIENCE

 

At least five years experience working as a mechanic (trade school experience preferred).

At least one-year diesel engine training.

At least two to three years' hydraulic systems diagnostics experience and in 12/24 volt electrical.

Lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel.  Sit or stand for long periods of time.

Good communication skills

Work in unprotected weather elements.
